![THE VISITOR<br />BY NICOLE, SHAMILLA, SHANA AND SHEHLA<br />EXT: <br />Establishing shot from outside of house<br />FADE IN:<br />INT: <br />Shelly (mother), Peter (father) and Charlie (child) APARTMENT – DAY<br />Mother walks down the stairs (without showing face – a direct medium shot [from toes to top of skirt]) exposing red slippers.<br />Mother walks into the kitchen (still no face exposed) but is followed by the audience (OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT/TRACKING SHOT) and back of her head (RED CURLY HAIR) is seen on screen.<br />[DIAGETIC SOUND – mother’s footsteps]<br />Immediate shots (CLOSE-UPS) – FIVE in a row in the setting of the kitchen:<br />First a STILL shot (EMPTY BOWL with MOTHER’S HAND –exposing red nail varnish) <br />Second: On screen the SAME bowl but with a box of CEREAL being emptied into it.<br />Third: SAME bowl but (close up) of MILK being poured.<br />Fourth: (EXTREME CLOSE UP) – Mother’s Lips – displayed with red lipstick being applied.<br />Fifth: (EXTREME CLOSE UP) – Lipstick being smudged to MOTHER’S RIGHT side. (Overall image perceived through end result of lipstick being smudged should be similar to that of a clown’s mouth)<br />CLOSE-UP shots end and the mother is finally exposed through a LONG SHOT where we see her show signs of distress in facial expressions. She then lets out a:<br />MOTHER: SIGHS<br />DOORBELL RINGS<br />Mother walks to the door shown though a TRACKING SHOT and slowly opens the door.<br />Babysitter is revealed and mother says shown through a MEDIUM SHOT of her face:<br />MOTHER: Oh, it’s you.<br />Babysitter responds, again through a MEDIUM SHOT of babysitter’s face:<br />BABYSITTER: Yeah of course, why? Where you expecting a visitor?<br />MOTHER AND BABYSITTER LAUGH TOGETHER<br />BABYSITTER enters the house (EXPOSED THROUGH A LONGSHOT)<br />MOTHER begins to show babysitter around the house, starting with the KITCHEN and introducing the BABYSITTER to the CHILD.<br />The MOTHER then takes the BABYSITTER upstairs shown through both TRACKING SHOTS and LONG SHOTS and we then see the MOTHER open the door to the CHILD’S room.<br />A CLOSE-UP SHOT of the handle is shown with the MOTHERS hand turning the doorknob.<br />MOTHER: This is Charlie’s room, all of his toys and games are in here but remind him to keep it tidy.<br />NON DIAGETIC SOUND beings to play (a mysterious and ethereal sound is expressed which is then accompanied by the opening titles.) <br />A TRACKING SHOT scans the room allowing the audience to clearly see the interior. <br />The BABYSITER walks into the room (LONG SHOT) and through her facial expressions, it becomes clear that something is not right.<br />Her eyes SQUINT A LITTLE but she dismisses the unusual feeling she gets and follows the MOTHER out of the room.<br />](https://image.slidesharecdn.com/thevisitorscript-110303114511-phpapp01/85/THE-VISITOR-SCRIPT-ONE-1-320.jpg)
